Registration for Unframed Works 

LAGS Printshop

Welcome to the Printshop - Unframed work on paper!
 
Please review the following instructions carefully.
 
All work submitted to the unframed section must be clearly indicated at registration that it is “original art” or a “reproduction” of your art. Although we prefer at the LAGS that your work is original and not a reproduction, we will accept both, but it must be clearly identified so that buyers are aware, and there is no misrepresentation.
 
Preparing your artwork for the Printshop racks:
 
  • Maximum size 20” x 30”
  • Minimum selling price $35 per piece
  • Unframed work must be supported on a stiff backing like matt-board, or thin foam core 
  • Each piece must be incased in a fitted protective clear plastic sleeve, or clear wrapping that is the same size as the art piece (not loose, no bags)
  • The easiest method for unframed work is to use a premade matt-board that comes with a plastic sleeve and adhesive closure. To save costs, you can also buy matt-board or backing board, and cellophane wrap, that you cut and prepare yourself
  • Please ensure you follow this guideline as it is the most professional way to present your work in your gallery. If you are unsure, please ask your Printshop co-chairs.
  • If your work does not meet the presentation requirement, we will ask you to make the adjustments before rack placement. 
Submitting your artwork:
  • Each piece must be registered prior to bringing to the gallery. We will not accept unregistered pieces. 
  • Clearly identify that your piece is “original art” or a “reproduction” of your art.
  • You can submit up to 4 pieces of work to be included at a time during each season
  • You can add a jpeg image of each piece along with title. An image helps volunteers select the correct work at the time of a sale
  • Your unframed work can be received on intake/outtake days, April through October.

Sales of your artwork:

  • You should receive a call or an email from the volunteer attendant or from the Printshop, notifying you of your sale. As with all sold work, 60% per sale will be mailed to you in 45 days or less, 40% will go to supporting the gallery, and 15% HST will be added at point of sale.

  • If your artwork sells, we will invite you to bring in a registered replacement for that piece (a same piece or a new piece). For a same piece, you do not need to send a new jpeg. A new label will be printed at the gallery.

 At the end of the season:

  • All unsold artwork must be picked up on the final outtake days as noted on our website from 1-4pm. Because the galley is rented off season, LAGS cannot store work or be responsible for any left behind.
