Celebrating 53 Years!

Welcome to LAGS

The Lunenburg Art Gallery Society was founded in 1972 to promote the legacy of local artist Earl Bailly, and provide a home for his collection of artwork.

LAGS has also evolved into an independent society with over 150 members and our Lincoln Street

gallery is a popular destination.

The Art of Our Community

Everyone is Welcome

We welcome artists with every level of skill and experience. You don't even have to be an artist! All you have to do is join.

In 2025 we will mount a new exhibition on the first Friday of every month, April - October.  For an annual membership fee of $40 ($20 for students) every member can participate in each of these shows.

We are a volunteer-run gallery and we encourage all members to donate time and skills if possible. Please note there is a 40% commission on all sales of artwork.

Torn Edges: A Celebration of the Printmakers’ Art, is an exhibition of work from the Mahone Bay Printmakers that will brighten the beginning of December.

A vibrant community of artists, the Mahone Bay Printmakers studio was established in 2002 by Ed Porter, professor emeritus NSCAD, as a place for sharing and learning about the art of the print. The group has continued to thrive and grow under his guidance ever since.

An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, December 2 from 3 to 6pm with food, cheer, and a welcome from Ed Porter.

On Saturday, December 6 a "Meet the Printmakers" event will run from 3 to 5pm, where visitors can learn about the many different printmaking techniques that are happening on Nova Scotia’s South Shore.

Torn Edges runs from December 2 to 7, 11am to 5pm daily.
