’Artists for Ukraine’ has been a heartwarming success due to the generosity of the 38 artists in our community who donated their beautiful pieces of art to support the Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Relief Fund. To date, we have raised over $7500 through sales to art lovers who believe in the cause and have helped our community stand up for the freedom and safety of the people of Ukraine.
Many people in the community supported the initiative in other ways. The Lunenburg Art Gallery agreed to link its website to our Facebook page. Special thanks to Sharon Wadsworth-Smith who worked tirelessly to keep our online presence fresh and up to date. Thank you to the team at The Quartet Gallery for hosting us in their window.
We received excellent coverage in the media. Thank you to Alyse Hand and Global News, the South Shore Breaker, Lighthouse Now and the Masthead News for their help in getting our story out. Ironworks Distillery also helped to advertise our project. The Barn kindly agreed to let us set up a show of some of our artist’s work.
We are proud that we could in some small way help to support the courage and tenacity of the people of Ukraine in their time of need has helped us to feel optimism about the future.
Thank you Sue Rosson for all of your hard work and patience during this initiative and your unlimited energy to make it a success. Your idea was the spark that ignited the flame that brought us together. Thank you.
