If you like to use figures in your paintings this workshop will provide some useful insights. Working with live models and using graphite media and washes on fine papers explore ways to quickly capture the structural basics of the figure, the posture, the gesture, even the mood to provide accurate underpinnings for clothing. Then, investigate the structure and surface of the clothing itself, the stretch and compression of fabrics that create folds, drapes and winkles. This layering up produces truly credible and dynamic results. These drawing studies can later be used as a basis for paintings.
