Medium: oil, acrylic

Subjects: various

After high school, I completed two years of full-time study at the Nova Scotia College of Art. Since my return to Nova Scotia after many years “away”, I’ve attended workshops with various instructors. I’m currently a member of the LaHave life drawing and portrait groups and the Lunenburg Art Gallery. I exhibit my work at the Lunenburg Art Gallery, the Black Duck Gallery, the AGNS Art Sales and Rental Society and the Shoreline Gallery. I have also participated in shows at the VANS Corridor Gallery in Halifax.

I enjoy the excitement and challenge of working with different media and techniques and I like to paint on location when possible. I’ve spent many days fighting the elements as I tried to capture a lovely coastal scene or beautiful garden … but it’s all part of the joy of painting! Happily, memory and imagination can be the basis for a painting when winter weather makes outdoor work difficult.
