Jim is retired and lives with his painter wife Jane and their animals on a lake in Lunenburg County. A mostly self-taught woodcarver, since 1996. He has had success in the carving of Nova Scotian birds, most notably Great Blue Herons. He has had a show, with his wife, at the Black Duck Gallery in Lunenburg and has shown his work at several other venues. At present most of Jim's carving projects use France's Chauvet Cave walls as inspiration.
